So how can you set up an optimized business account, get followers and drive visitors to your websites through pinning? Below are 5 Tips to get you started:

Hint #1: Open a Pinterest Business account

it’s free- be sure that you optimize it by using your business name and keywords on your Pinterest page. When you start your business site, you’ll be asked to make a user name, this is the first chance to brand your business on Pinterest.

You do not need to use your business name if using a focus keyword or keyword phrase might suit your marketing and advertising purposes better. I chose to use ‘The Online Video Marketer, ‘ instead of my business name because it was important for me personally to optimize keywords, instead of brand my business name. This also follows, the nomenclature I use for the other social networking profiles also helps me get noticed when people search for online video advertising.

Hint #2: Develop targeted snare boards

keep in mind target market, and different aspects of your brand, do not be afraid to add personal interests. Your prospects and customers are purchasing from YOU, not your own brand.

You’re more likely to draw followers if you combine this up. I have several boards at which I pin pictures, graphics and videos which are enjoyable and interesting and provide my followers of a sense of community by following me.

Hint #3: Create your website pinnable

ensure you’ve got loads of pictures AND VIDEO on your site for pinning by you and others as well. Add a ‘Pin-It’ button on your site to make it easy for visitors to pin to their own boards again adding to a viral hit.

Hint #4: Connect your own photos and videos back to your website.

As soon as you’ve posted a picture or movie to your plank, re-open it and place your website or webpage URL where you wish to drive visitors. This is a significant step in getting Pinterest visitors to visit your website.

As soon as you do this, each time one of your pins get ‘enjoyed’ or re-pinned, then you’re increasing the likelihood it will result in you obtaining a referral to your website.

Hint #5: Spend some time participating with other people’s boards

it’s just as any other social networking site – you need to ‘pay to play’ Meaning, if you would like others to participate and re-pin your pins, you’ve got to spend some time doing exactly the same.

As with all online advertising and marketing activities, you should check your analytics to ensure your efforts are getting results – This allows you to monitor the number of people have already been migrating out of the website and the number of people have seen your pins. Make adjustments based on your findings.

Remember, the purpose of promoting your business with Pinterest is to push more referral visitors to your websites and sales pages.
